Salamander Stink and The Haunted Handshake

This artwork is painted onto the full-pipe at the skatepark at LaBonte Park. Artist Conor Mullen worked with Laramie Public Art Coalition to develop a community-informed creative process. An advisory team of representatives from organizations surrounding LaBonte, including Feeding Laramie Valley, Laramie Interfaith, Laramie Youth Crisis Center, and Friends of the Laramie Skatepark, identified community prompts to collect stories and memories of the park. Mullen incorporated those stories into the completed design.
The project was funded by the City of Laramie Parks and Recreation department.

Artist bio:
Conor Mullen is a multimedia artist, educator, and documentary photographer living in Laramie. His studies in social work and environment & natural resources inform his creative practices and passion for contributing to community well-being.
