Summer 2020, the City of Laramie and the Laramie Main Street Alliance created a public plaza for a socially distant gathering place during COVID-19. LPAC commissioned Laramie artists to create safety signage, pictured below. Artist Travis Ivey, who had completed the Hollyhock Haven mural in 2011 as part of the Laramie Mural Project, updated the plaza with mural imagery to take over the space.

Artist Travis Ivey describes how his mural "Hollyhock Haven" in 2011 was used to inspire Hollyhock Commons.

Artwork at Hollyhock Commons is funded by Blue Federal Credit Union.

Favian Hernandez

Favian Hernandez creates a world of animal fantasy. His primary medium most of his life has been pen and paper. Every piece he designs still evolves from a sketch, but his favored mediums for his illustrations are watercolor, gouache, and digital paint. His work has always been inspired by animals. Favian’s love of both domestic and exotic animals began as a child with frequent visits to his hometown zoo. His work has evolved over the years moving from illustration to paper mache sculptures. He hopes to bring a smile to the viewer’s face through his whimsical depictions of animals cast in new and unexpected scenarios.

Emma Adams

I own Emagined Artwork and I create fun, colorful abstract paintings! I have done several shows in Laramie bringing joy and inspiration!

My artwork shows that women are not meant to be sexualized but to be appreciated and treated equally! I have been in Laramie for three years now, loving every minute of it. I became a resident my first year. I am here attending school for outdoor guiding and to share my art with the community of Laramie.

Meg Thompson Stanton

Meg Thompson Stanton works in several different media exploring in visual form how we engage with our respective landscapes and how this influences us, personally and culturally, especially in the American West.  Her current work examines the dichotomy between cultural myths of the West and cultural veracity, especially around unacknowledged contributions of women, queers, and people of color that always have and still influence contemporary culture and cultural identity in the American West.

Her artistic practice includes 2d, 3d, painting, public art, community engagement, fabrication, and site installation work.  She is co-founder of Wyoming Art Party: an artist run organization that organizes inclusive local projects that celebrate and engage our local communities.  In 2013 she won the commission to design bike racks for downtown Laramie.  In 2013-2015 Thompson worked for the public art consulting team, Renee Piechocki and Jennifer McGregor, in developing the Laramie Public Art Plan.  She served as director of Laramie Public Art Coalition from 2016-2019.

Jennifer Power

Hi I'm Jennifer - owner, artist, and designer of Jennifer Power Art & Design. My background is in both art and graphic design. I went to Appalachian State university and received a Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Design. By starting my own freelance business, I have the opportunity to provide graphic design services for local businesses and create and sell artwork! Painting has been a hobby of mine for as long as I can remember. I took lessons in high school from a local artist in North Carolina and was exposed to a variety of mediums while I was at App State including fibers, screen printing, ceramics, and drawing. This year I got back into painting with watercolors. There is something relaxing and freeing working with watercolor and I especially enjoy painting flowers, landscapes, and animals.

Lindsay Stoffers

Lindsay Stoffers is a self-taught artist from Laramie, Wyoming.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (2007) and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2014) from the University of Wyoming.  She is currently employed as a Mental Health Counselor for both Albany County School District #1 and in private practice counseling.  In these settings, Lindsay often uses art therapy techniques as a vessel for recovery and growth with the clients she has the privilege to serve.  Lindsay’s inspiration stems from the narratives she hears in the counseling setting, children & adolescents use of bold colors and lines, the strength and resiliency that she has witnessed in her community and throughout the world, and the incredible depth and courage of the human spirit.  Lindsay has traveled the world, living and working in South Korea, Thailand, and India, to name a few.  She has exhibited her work on Jeju Island, South Korea (2009), The Gil Street Mural Extension in downtown Laramie, WY (2017), Touchstone Laramie (2017), and WyoConnect Gallery (2020).   Her work tends to highlight strength and resiliency within the female archetype.
