Nature Journaling + Close Looking - Saturday, May 11th
The world around us is overflowing with secrets, beauty, and the possibility of connection if we sharpen our observational skills and form. Join artist and naturalist, Rhiannon Jakopak for a stroll near the Nautilus Trailhead, where we will develop, deepen, or practice closely looking at he world around us. We will use sketching and nature journaling techniques to study and explore rock formations, the first plants of spring, and any animals we encounter. Participants should anticipate traveling no more than 1 mile with little elevation change, and moving at a leisurely pace.

About the artist -
Rhiannon is a Laramie-based artist who’s artistic practice centers around the natural world. She takes inspiration from the plants and animals of Wyoming. “I am happiest when I am trying new media and techniques, and rarely stay with the same style for more than one piece. I enjoy sketching, painting, hand stitching, printmaking, and more - whatever techniques let me play and see the world through fresh eyes.” You can find out more about Rhiannon’s work on Instagram @rhiacoon.
