Continuous Strand Weaving Fall Series

$105.00

LPAC is proud to present the Continuous Strand Weaving Fall Series with Claire Pearson! This series consists of three separate sessions happening on 11/7/2026, 12/12/2026 and 1/9/2026. Participants will learn the following:

Continuous Strand Workshop (11/7/2026)

Get ready to weave! Join local fiber artist, Claire Pearson, and learn continuous strand weaving on an 11” Triangular Loom. Continuous strand weaving is a unique, unconventional weaving technique that creates fabric by weaving the warp and weft simultaneously. This technique bypasses time consuming set-up and produces minimal yarn waste compared to traditional weaving, making it a great method for the budding weaver! Participants will learn to weave an 11” triangle using the continuous strand method- triangles woven by this method will be used to create a fold over pouch. Participants will be provided with a loom and a skein of yarn. Both will be used for the full duration of the series! Please note - this is the same material that was covered in the continuous strand weaving class LPAC hosted earlier this year.

Cut Strand Weaving Workshop (12/12/2026)

Get ready to weave! Join local fiber artist, Claire Pearson, and learn cut strand weaving on an 11” Triangular Loom. Cut strand weaving is a weaving technique that allows weavers to produce fringed pieces while weaving on the hypotenuse. This technique requires a little more weaving time and yarn waste, but results in a gorgeous balanced weave with non-symmetrical color variations. Participants will learn to weave an 11” triangle using the cut strand method- triangles woven by this method will be used to create a decorative pennant.

Finishing Workshop (1/9/2026)

Now that you’ve woven to your hearts content on the 11” Triangular Loom, join local fiber artist, Claire Pearson, for a finishing course! In this course, we will take the 9 continuous strand woven triangles and 9 cut strand woven triangles to create a fold over pouch and pennant. Participants will learn finishing techniques, such as crochet borders, seaming, and good ol’ weaving in of the ends!
